Marketing Coordinator
Reports To: Care Centre Associate
Position Overview:
The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for developing and managing communication and marketing efforts that promote the programs, services, and events of the PORTICO Care Centre. This role focuses on content creation, social media management, digital communications, and supporting internal teams with marketing needs. The ideal candidate is organized, creative, and committed to telling the story of community impact with excellence and clarity.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Marketing Admin. & Communications Activities
Plan, schedule, and manage daily social media posts across all Care Centre platforms.
Monitor social media activity, respond to comments/messages, and engage with followers.
Capture photos, videos, and stories during programs for upcoming content.
Draft, edit, and post updates highlighting weekly activities, programs, volunteer stories, and events.
Maintain and update the Care Centre website sections with current program information.
Manage shared email communication inbox for marketing-related inquiries.
Maintain a daily task list and project updates through ClickUp or other internal systems.
Promote all Care Centre programs, classes, and events through digital channels.
Capture content during events, classes, workshops, and program days.
Support the setup of promotional tables, signage, and communication materials at events.
Assist staff with presentation slides, printed materials, and participant communication.
Coordinate with team members to ensure accurate, up-to-date program information is shared with the public.
Content Creation & Social Media
Design digital and print promotional materials (flyers, posters, slides, infographics).
Write captions, newsletters, announcements, and short-form content that align with the Care Centre’s mission and voice.
Create consistent branding across all platforms and materials.
Develop short highlight videos or reels for social media.
Maintain a content library of photos, videos, and design assets.
Maintain a monthly social media calendar for program updates, events, and impact stories.
Track social media performance and provide insights to improve reach and engagement.
Stay current with trends and apply relevant ideas to elevate Care Centre storytelling.
Ensure all content reflects the ministry’s values and community-focused tone.
Qualifications & Skills
Diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong written communication and storytelling ability.
Proficiency with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
Experience with Canva or similar design platforms (Adobe Suite an asset).
Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple tasks.
Experience in community services, nonprofit, or church environments is an asset.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Photography/videography experience is an advantage.
Working Conditions
Onsite at the PORTICO Care Centre with occasional offsite content gathering.
Flexible schedule with some evening or weekend events.
Requires occasional physical tasks (event setup, camera equipment, signage).
